MARTIN LUTHER KING SERVICE Many thanks to all who participated in the Martin Luther King Service on Monday, January 16, and especially to Annie Greenup, who organized a sumptuous reception afterwards, and to the choir whose music stirred the congregation.  The church was filled with worshipers in remembrance of this great Civil Rights leader. If you were unable to attend, you can still contribute  to the Bronx Council's Martin Luther King Memorial Scholarship Fund. Make your check payable to the Northwest Bronx IPC with "MLK Scholarship Fund" in the memo line, and send to the attention of Richard Kelly, Treasurer, at the Church of the Holy Nativity, 3061 Bainbridge Ave., Bronx, NY 10467.

JEWISH-CHRISTIAN DIALOGUE  The second and final session of the fall took place at Christ Church on December 7.  It was an honor to welcome our Jewish neighbors and to engage in a meeting of minds and hearts.  Thanks go to all who participated.

ANNUAL HOLIDAY BAZAAR AND CRAFTS FAIR was a wonderful day for Christ Church thanks to the creative vendors, Evelyn Davies, her telephone team and the bakers who provided an abundant table of holiday goodies.  The week before the bazaar a joyful morning was spent making ornaments and dipping pretzels in chocolate under the tutelage of Lena and Lorraine Simmons.  What fun!  A big thank you also to those who donated goods for sale at the ECW table and especially those who worked all day to make this event a success.  The proceeds of this sale go toward kitchen improvement for our parishioners and the many organizations who use this facility.  The culminating event was the "surprise" visit by St. Nicholas who seemed to be wearing the same shoes as our own Rector.  Hmmm.....

CHILDREN'S PAGEANT and LESSONS AND CAROLS    Sunday, December 18 was a day of celebration offering our talents in praise of God.  Thanks go to Kim Johnson and all who participated in the joyous pageant at the 11:00am service, musicians Richard Rose and James Mueser and our younger singers, and to Darin Lewis and the adult choir who led us in the beautiful reflections of Lessons and Carols that afternoon at 5:00.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS  Many thanks to the Altar Guild, James Onyango, donors for decorations, musicians (adult choir and Darin Lewis, children's choir and Richard Rose, trumpeter James Mueser) and all who helped make our Christmas services beautiful offerings in commemoration of our Savior's birth.  Christmas Eve midnight service had its share of excitement, when the organ developed a cipher (a note that would not stop playing) and the fire alarm was triggered by incense!  Quiet was soon restored, and our worship continued in peace.
