Celebration of a New Ministry – Sun., Oct. 26, 2014, 4 p.m.                                               You are cordially invited to participate in this special service at 4:00 p.m. as we officially welcome our new Rector, Fr. Andrew G. Butler III.  Our Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Andrew Dietsche will preside at this service of Holy Eucharist.  There will be an 8:30 a.m. service that morning but no 11:00 a.m. service so that we can all come together to affirm the calling of Fr. Andrew and our ministry together.  A festive reception will follow in the Parish Hall.

Volunteers Needed

1-      Children’s Ministry—Please consider helping to form the next generation of disciples by becoming a Sunday School Teacher at Christ Church.  We have a dedicated group of volunteers who need your help to continue to grow our program.  Pray about how God is calling you to share your faith with our children.  Contact Marcia Callender at or Sarah Stevenson at to find out more.

2-      Coffee Hour Coordinator-  Are you good at communicating the importance of hospitality here at Christ Church and willing to remind us of the importance of our after-service food and fellowship?  Can you carry a clipboard around during coffee hour and ask people to sign up to host the coffee hour after one of our morning services?  Please contact Father Andrew at for more information.

3-      Altar Guild-  The current members of the Altar Guild are inviting Christ Church men and women to find out about their ministry and perhaps become a member of this important group.  If you are interested or just a bit curious, about what they do to prepare the altar and sanctuary for each service, please speak to Florence Maduro.

Flower Memorials

Sponsoring altar flowers is a special way to remember a loved one who has died, celebrate a birthday, anniversary or special occasion.  Please visit the Flower Calendar on the bulletin board at the entrance to the Parish Hall, sign up on the calendar for the Sunday/s of your choice, fill in the form and follow the directions.

Feeding the Hungry

When you go grocery shopping this week, pick up canned or boxed food for the Kingsbridge, Riverdale, Marble Hill Food Bank.  There are a number of very needy families in these neighboring communities who are dependent on this Food Bank to feed their families.  There are boxes for collection in the Parish Hall and at the entrance to the church.  Monetary Donations may also be made.  People with cars are also needed to deliver the groceries to the Church of the Mediator.  See Anita Dutt for additional information.
