David Talbird in an informal planning session for September.  We will be looking for feedback and volunteers to help organize an event to kick off a refocusing of service activities.  We will be asking ourselves:

How do we serve our church, our Bronx Community, the world, and our environment in the manner that God has called upon us to act?

Kingsbridge, Riverdale, Marble Hill Food Bank- Sun., June 22- Last Collection The Kingsbridge, Riverdale, Marble Hill Food Bank is suspending its collections for the summer.  June 22 will be your last opportunity until the Fall to support this very important Food Bank.  Please leave boxed or canned foods in the basket at the entrance to the church.  There are a number of very needy families in these neighboring communities who are dependent on this Food Bank to feed their families.  Please help!

Pledging Status as of 6/17/2014

2014 Pledge Report

103 Pledges have been made for a total of $ 239,207

Your Pledge to Christ Church Riverdale and Your Summer Vacation

Saturday, June 21 marks the official start of summer.  After the long, hard winter, we are all grateful for this glorious seasonal change.

Pledging this year was phenomenal.  Currently we have receipts on our pledges of $ 105,371 for the year.  That is 44% of the total pledge.  However, as of June 15, we should be at 46%. That is a shortfall of more than $ 4,784 in pledge receipts.

Experience has taught us that as the summer progresses, we can expect that families will be taking their vacations and attendance at services as well as contributions will decrease.

Just like in your house, the bills at Christ Church continue to come in throughout the summer.  Salaries, pensions and health insurance must be paid as well as the telephone, electric and fuel bills.

Please review your pledge and bring your contributions up to date before you go away.  If your circumstances have changed, please feel free to revise your pledge and submit a new form.  If you will be away, consider prepaying your pledge before you go.

Thank you in advance for considering the needs of your church home.

Carpenter’s Kids- Pledges are Due Now

The school year has begun in Idifu, Tanzania and we have sent our check for the support of our school children.

If you have made a pledge, please note that it is time to write the check for $70 for each of your children for this school year.

An Additional Gift to our Carpenter’s Kids

A Solar Powered Lamp will be given to each of our Carpenter’s Kids during the July Pilgrimage, along with some new books, backpacks, soccer balls and additional school supplies.  We have already sent $ 1,750 head to order these gifts for them.  The solar lights will allow them to study at night and make a little money charging cell phones of some of the villagers.  You can help defray the cost of this gift by writing a check to Christ Church Riverdale and marking your check for Carpenter’s Kids Solar Lamps.

Rector Search Committee News

The Vestry has completed the interviews of the three candidates for Rector of Christ Church Riverdale and their choice has been submitted to the Diocese for final review.
