The school year has begun in Idifu, Tanzania and it is time to send our check for the support of our school children.

If you have made a pledge, please note that it is time to write the check for $70 for each of your children for this school year.

Reflecting and Giving this Lent

Devotional booklets and Hope Chests (Mite Boxes) are available on the Welcome Table.  The Boxes will be collected at Easter and the proceeds sent to Episcopal Relief and Development for the important work of serving those in need.


Flower and Music Memorials for Easter-
As always, the Altar Guild will be placing flowers at the Altar and our Music Director will be arranging the glorious sound of our choir, our organ and additional singers and musicians for our Easter services.  All of this is to praise God and to celebrate Easter.

Memorials and Thanksgiving for those you love and/or God's blessings should be submitted by April 13. Forms are available at the rear of the church and on the Welcome Table. 


Easter Bread Baking with the Sunday School-  Sat., April 19, 9 a.m.- noon

Father Patrick will bake bread for Easter with the children of the Sunday School. This bread will be used for communion at the Easter vigil service.


Preparation of the Church for Easter-  Sat., Apr. 19, 9:30 a.m.

Interested parishioners are invited to join the members of the Altar Guild as they prepare the church for the Easter celebration.  Wear work clothes.  The day will begin with prayers and follow up with a general clean up and the set up of the flowers.


Preparation for the Easter Egg Hunt- Sun. Apr. 20

The Annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place after the 11 a.m. Easter service on the church grounds or in the Parish House in case of inclement weather. 

Members of the congregation are asked to bring in a dozen hard-boiled, colored eggs.  Our teen-agers will “hide” the eggs so that the youngest members of our congregation can “find” them.


Easter Sunday Coffee Hour- Sun., Apr. 20

Each member of the Christ Church is asked to bring cookies, cakes or pastries to share with the members of the congregation and make the Easter Sunday coffee hour special.  You may also bring fruit juice for the children.


The Sacrament of Holy Baptism

In the Episcopal Church, baptisms are scheduled on specific days on the

Church Calendar.  The next dates are Sat., Apr. 19 during the Great Vigil and

Sun., June 8 on the Feast of Pentecost.

If you are interested in baptism for yourself or your child you will need to speak with Father Patrick.  Please call or email the office.


International Dinner- Sat., May 10, 6 p.m.

This annual celebration honors the many cultures and traditions, which make up the Christ Church Riverdale family.  Everyone is invited to bring a dish from his/her cultural experience or adopt one!.  Start going through those recipe books now! The sign up sheet is on the Welcome Table. 

Please feel free to invite friends and relatives. Tickets- $20 adults, $15 ages 12-17,

$5 ages 6-11.


Help Wanted – Nursery Caregiver

We are looking for a qualified nursery caregiver for Sunday mornings. Please speak to John Mueser, our Senior Warden.


Rector Search Committee News

The Search Committee has narrowed the field of applicants for Rector to 8 candidates.  Interviews will be held during the month of April and 3 names will be given to the Diocese for final review.  The Vestry will make the final decision.  All applications are kept in the strictest confidence.

Feeding the Hungry

Please remember that canned or boxed food for the Kingsbridge, Riverdale, Marble Hill Food Bank may be brought any Sunday and left in the basket at the entrance to the church.  There are a number of very needy families in these neighboring communities who are dependent on this Food Bank to feed their families.  Please help!
